My Most Precious Possession

It sits on my desk in my bedroom and it stores soldiers inside. It was the first thing my grandad made out of wood for me and it is painted grey. I was given it for my 10th birthday two years ago. I remember being super excited when I got it from my grandad. It has four “towers” and there is an open “door” which lets me put in and take the soldiers out of it. There is also a platform for the soldiers to stand and “shoot” from. I would be very sad if it were to break or get lost as it is so special to me. I have had many hours of fun with this toy.

… I was stuck in the mad professor’s lab. Pursuit

It stood in the doorway. I began to run. I hadn’t enough time to tell what it was, though I didn’t want to see. I headed straight for the door, but before I could make it, it slammed shut. I was trapped… I remembered that my window was open, so I headed for the stairs that lay at the back of the house.  I ran past the creature and it leapt at me.
