Blaze

Very loosely based on the novel I will be adding to from time to time (besides the fish and the creature). He stood, then looked around. A small flame came from his palm. He concentrated all of his energy into this small flame, like he had done time and time again. The flame grew big enough to light the passage. He passed a room with a tank at either side, these must have been the walls. Inside the one on his left, he found a small, brown goldfish, swimming through the water slowly. Something went up the ladder in front of him so quickly it almost flew up. He gulped and walked towards it slowly, cautiously. Then the floor above him collapsed, revealing a creature so hideous, he could barely look at it. The flame in his hand grew into a fireball, taking up most of the energy he had left, but still he made it grow. Soon, it became a blazing, boiling inferno, so huge he could barely hold it in place. Then he threw it. The creature tried to block it, but it was too huge. The creature

The Mage

He marched, his army marching behind him. They stormed through the forest. They would stop him. Well, I hope so, he mumbled in his head. They were storming through the park when suddenly… this couldn’t be right, he was there… standing as still as could be. “Why, I didn’t expect to see you here,” he murmured with a wry smile. “Oh right, I did! ” He added. The army charged. They ran towards him, but he pulled his sceptre out and a beam shot towards them. “ DUCK! ” the general screamed. But it was too late. The beam hit his army, turning them instantly into wooden statues. The general stared at the mage, who proceeded to say, “It looks like you’re alone now… I hope you enjoy statues, because that’s what you’re going to be from now on!” Suddenly a beam shot from the sceptre towards the general. He started to scream. Suddenly, he felt an intense heat. Then there was nothing…

Lurch

I stood in the doorway, waiting for midnight. My friend stood still beside me. We stood there for what felt like a lifetime, until he gathered the courage to speak. “What are we waiting for?” He enquired. I said nothing. I heard a clock chime. It was time. It lurched out from under the floor, screeching its shrill screech. We ran, not looking back. We could hear its heavy footsteps. I was wondering if the floor could even handle its weight. We were moving very fast when… I could see it ahead, moaning a low, deep moan, hungry for its prey. All I could do was sit back and watch its slow approach, it was taunting us… I grabbed my friend by the arm and ran…

Pursuit

It stood in the doorway. I began to run. I hadn’t enough time to tell what it was, though I didn’t want to see. I headed straight for the door, but before I could make it, it slammed shut. I was trapped… I remembered that my window was open, so I headed for the stairs that lay at the back of the house.  I ran past the creature and it leapt at me. I pushed it off and kept running, eventually making it to the stairs. I ran up and headed towards the window. I climbed out and walked out onto the roof above my porch. Suddenly, I heard a noise. I looked behind me. It came down the drain pipe…
